Carrie began her career in the restaurant industry and decided to make wine her focus after an influential bottle of Amarone while living in Italy. She abandoned a promising future in Philosophy and today is a Certified Wine Educator and Certified Sommelier. Beckoned by the Pacific Northwest and its wines, she boldly moved to Oregon having never visited and fell in love with the outdoors where she hikes, camps, kayaks and paddleboards as often as she can.

KAREN IRIZARRY KISSANE: Direct Sales Manager
Born and raised in the gardens of the Garden State, Karen earned a Bachelor of Architecture from Virginia Tech--so naturally she landed in the wine industry. Sometimes you have to go left to get right, right? Her appreciation for wine led her to become a Certified Sommelier and she gained practical knowledge working in California, Australia, and New Zealand. She got her hands dirty and bought Blundstones working vintages in Australia, Germany, New Zealand, and France. Her love of cool climate varieties, artisanal wet weather gear, and foot-long slugs brought her to the Willamette Valley where she shares her knowledge and love of wine with the many tasters who visit REX HILL.

JONATHAN LAMPE: Tasting Room Manager
Jonathan originally joined REX HILL part time in the tasting room to expand his knowledge of Pinot Noir and wine in general. Those weekend shifts intensified his passion for wine so much that he decided to leave his decade-long career in insurance and join the team full time. He has since become a Certified Specialist of Wine and has passed the Wine & Spirit Education Trust Level 2 Certification. Catch Jonathan in the tasting room where he’s typically clad in a waistcoat or bowtie (or both), and happy to share his newly-gained wine knowledge with you.

AMY GRIFFITH: Winery Chef & Specialty Sales Supervisor

Amy Griffith joined REX HILL after over a decade in retail and direct to consumer wine sales, both in New York City and the Chehalem Mountains AVA of the Willamette Valley. She brings wither experience as both a winery and personal chef, specializing in pairing local, seasonal fare with Oregon’s beautifully food-friendly wines. Nothing makes her happier than seeing someone’s face light up after the perfect pairing! Amy holds degrees in History from the University of Oregon and Culinary Arts from Western Culinary Institute, and has passed the Wine & Spirits Education Trust Advanced Certificate. Outside of work, Amy enjoys exploring Portland’s vibrant food scene, with a special love of the city’s many taco trucks.
