REX HILL Vineyards has participated in Oregon's sustainability movement from its outset, our vineyards and winery are certified LIVE (Low Input Viticulture & Enology, Inc.). We are committed to helping our independent growers to farm organically and our Jacob-Hart Vineyard is Demeter certified Biodynamic. Biodynamic farming is the most stringent of organic farming practices and takes into count not only the physical aspects of farming, but the energetic and spiritual aspects as well.

RYAN COLLINS: Director of Vineyard Operations
Ryan grew up surrounded by vineyards and beaches in Margaret River, Western Australia. He studied Viticulture at the University of Adelaide while working in the Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale, Adelaide Hills and then Pegasus Bay in New Zealand. In 2009, his love for Pinot Noir drew him to Oregon's Willamette Valley for a harvest. He fell in love with the region and his future wife, returning to settle in with A to Z Wineworks and REX HILL on his birthday in 2010. Ryan works with over 70 vineyards from around the state following sustainable principles. Along with running our Biodynamic program, managing grower relations, and continuous viticulture research, he also serves on the LIVE technical committee. When he's not caring for our vines, you will often find him braving the icy Pacific Ocean alongside sea lions.
