The 2013 REX HILL La Colina Vineyard is a classic example of Oregon Pinot Noir from one of the more classic vintages we have seen in Oregon. When first poured, beautiful floral and fruit aromas of black cherries, cassis, red currants, raspberries, blueberries, violets, rosehip and iris are quick to emerge. The wine opens into more complex aromas of baking spice, vanilla, tobacco and clove. The palate is juicy, plush and succulent with silky tannins and ripe acidity. The finish is long and lingering, with hints of smoke and spice and wet stones and cherries. Drinking well now, the 2013 REX HILL La Colina Vineyard will reward patient cellaring by growing more complex and integrated over the next 10 years.
