The 2014 REX HILL Antiquum Vineyard opens with deep, dark fruits lifting from the glass. Black cherry, plum and blackberry mingle with secondary notes of vanilla, baking spice, wet slate, bramble and a bit of coriander. Over time the wine opens to reveal hints of toast, violets and black pepper and the fruit aromas deepen even further. On the palate, the wine is impeccably balanced, giving nod to the perfection of the growing season. Tart acidity and integrated tannins balance out the juicy fruit flavors and point to the longevity of the wine in cellar. Drink now or hold for 12-15 years.
